Morels!!

Finally after searching for a week, Mark found enough morels to have with our dinner. He found a few yesterday, and we had those sauteed with our scrambled eggs this morning. This afternoon on his walk with the dogs, he found quite a few more. I sauteed them, in a mixture of butter and olive oil, and some minced garlic.

We will have to go back out tomorrow to see if we can find some more. They are out two weeks later this year than last  year.

Close up of morels, prepped ready to cook!

O yummmm!!
Love morels, any pointers on picking them? Are there similar ones I need to weary of?
My grandmother used to pick morels and another mushroom that i believe were white with orange and would grow close to the ground, or just poke out of the ground. A shame i was so young and new really had a chance to absorb all she had to teach.

These are so beautiful. I have never had morels, but I am a mushroom a lover so hopefully I'll have the opportunity one day.
