Happy New Year
January is already starting to fly by…
Our son and his girlfriend flew out early this morning,
our Christmas vacation is over.
The house is so quiet, I miss my kids.
I wish we lived closer together.
Mark and I went to the beach before dinner, brrr.
We sure didn't linger there for long,
what a cold winter this has been so far.

Lake Boats in the Winter
It has always been a thrill for us to catch glimpses of the freighters out on the Lake. We really do miss our old view, we have to be quick these days, our window of opportunity has been diminished.
The boats are miles away.. photo quality is not all that it should be.
this was last Tuesday, the day Thomas left
we really liked this one,
the lake was so clear, no mist
I think this was the last boat
the last boat we saw anyway
the locks in the Sault are now closed for the season

My Hibernation is Over!
I tried hard to just be a grumpy old bear and hibernate the winter away, but I couldn't do it. Yay for being a little creative, it does wonders for ones soul!
Working with colour is great therapy for long winter days!

Bird On a Wire
A few times a day the starlings line the telephone wire at the back of our yard, waiting and hoping that the dogs will have left some food for them. The raven sits atop the old dead birch, waiting and hoping... a winter routine.
one lone starling, I sent the others off in a flurry when I snuck out to take the photo.
