The Snow did Blow...
The weather this January has been in extremes,
either brutally cold, we registered -41° C on our
north side thermometer last week, or warm and
with the warmth comes snow. Lots of it!

A Yucky Day for a Drive
Yesterday morning we had to drive Thomas to Thunder Bay in pea soup fog and pouring down rain. Strange weather for February in northwestern Ontario! The roads were not good, thickly crusted with ice, for me a nervous passenger, it was not at all fun.

Thomas just called, as I was typing here, he arrived safely in Vancouver. I sure miss him already! Time for me to fill my life with weaving and such..

A Late Happy New Year!
Hard to believe I have not posted for days, New Years eve came and went. Megan is back in London. We have all been very sick... I made a joke about catching the man cold, I wasn't really joking, it came back to bite me in the butt. Or should I say nose, throat and chest, oh and infected sinus passages, nice stuff. Nasty bug, or bugs. I have the energy of a limp noodle. Blah....
It is snowing heavy today, yet again. I went out this morning to try to take photos of Thomas snowboarding on the drop, but my camera is too slow and has a huge delay. I took one photo and he was already gone down the drop.

Pansy in a Snow Storm
We are having our biggest blizzard of the season, snowing and blowing to beat the band. I am tired of the sound of the wind, it has been howling since last night.. it sounds as though it is trying to huff and puff and blow our house in... it just roars down the fireplace chimney.
I went into my iPhoto and started looking longingly at my summer flowers photos. Funny, winter has not even officially started, well it has weather wise, but I am craving warm sunny days already. It will be a long winter.

Happy Mother's Day!!
Happy Mother's Day to every mom, step mom, grandma, aunt, mom to little furry friends......
It was a good day here! Mark and I drove to Nipigon to meet my mom, sister and brother in law for lunch. They were on their way to the city. My mom has been staying with my sister since her surgery, almost two weeks ago. It was nice to see them, and to visit with them. My sister looks great, though you can see she is in pain, and not very comfortable. She needs to heal, before she starts her treatment.
I made my mom a necklace yesterday, pearls, jade and
lampwork beads from Gillianbeads. I love the way it turned out, it is gorgeous. I was able to give it to my mom at lunch.
We did drive through rain and snow this morning, yuck. There was snow sticking on the ground in Nipigon, and it snowed quite heavy on our way home.
Tomorrow is my big day of basket weaving with the students at St. Martins. I am a little nervous, but after a dry run yesterday with a couple of friends I do know it is works. I have a little more prep work tonight, then will be ready to go late tomorrow morning. I will post tomorrow night, about how the day went. I hope the kids will love it, even if it is used cardboard and plastic.

Snow in May
I was just getting ready to turn in for the night, went to the back to check on the dogs, and there were the biggest fattest flakes of snow falling. I had just posted earlier this evening about wanting warmer spring weather. I can see my breath out there, brrr. This is discouraging!
It sure didn;t take long for this snow to start staying on the ground and on the greenhouse.
Big fat snowflakes in the dark of night!

April Snow
Much to my dismay we have snow again. Our world is white! Luckily it is the end of April and the sun will shine and this dump of snow will melt!
Mark has a soft spot for our feathered friends, and crushed some sunflower seeds for them this morning. Amazing to see so many birds out there, fascinating to watch them all.
Close up zoom from through the backdoor window, they were too skittish to open the door.
