Forget Me Nots, Rhubarb and Garlic!

We actually are having a nice late afternoon. The fog finally rolled back out to the Lake where it is just hanging, may roll back in at a moments notice. I went out back to sit on the step, a friend stopped by on his way home from a bike ride. When he left I strolled about seeing what I could see, in my gardens. I was quite delighted to spy a couple of tiny forget me not blooms in my side flower bed, so pretty! The rhubarb is growing so well, we will be eating before long! Our garlic patch is quite amazing though, Mark planted one whole garden in a variety of different kinds of garlic last fall and it is all doing really well! We are big garlic lovers here in this house! What a wonderful afternoon! It is so nice to see the new life bursting forth, in the gardens!

Pansy in a Snow Storm

We are having our biggest blizzard of the season, snowing and blowing to beat the band. I am tired of the sound of the wind, it has been howling since last night.. it sounds as though it is trying to huff and puff and blow our house in... it just roars down the fireplace chimney.
I went into my iPhoto and started looking longingly at my summer flowers photos. Funny, winter has not even officially started, well it has weather wise, but I am craving warm sunny days already. It will be a long winter.

Little Red Fox

Late this afternoon while I  was prepping for dinner I noticed a movement out in the garden. A fox had  come for a visit. Mark was out with the dogs. Just as I was heading out with my camera a neighbour called to tell he he was watching the fox on the garden, I told him I was heading out to see if I could photograph it.
To my surprise and a little horror, the fox was not at all afraid of me, in fact maybe the opposite, he kept coming towards me, I scared him off when he got about five feet from me. He then just sat on the garden watching my neighbour on his deck.

I took some photos of our back yard through a screened upstairs window.
We are still in work mode getting the gardens weeded and planted.

Rock patio, dog kennel, raspberry patch...

Crooked view of rock patio, rock planter....

Brick patio and greenhouse....

Greenhouse, back garden, sidewalk, and side flower beds, these flower beds wrap around the house.
