My Girl Bean

Two weeks ago we brought Miss Bean to the traveling vet here. We were concerned about her breathing. He examined her and said with confidence that she was in tip top shape for a dog her age.
She had a very bad day Wednesday, she was in considerable pain. After a few calls to our vet in the city, we brought her there early early Thursday morning.
The vet discovered a growth on her thyroid and after further testing it was determined that she has thyroid cancer and it has spread to her lungs. She is home with us, for her last weeks or months. It is such heartbreaking news.
She's the last of our Inuit team.
She's such a good old girl.

Easter Sunday

We had a very quiet day today, peaceful!
We took the dogs out this aft, in the rain. The forest was gorgeous, all the colours are heightened when things are wet. It was a beautiful walk.
I am having our big dinner tomorrow, we have invited some friends to join us.
It'll be nice!

Blue Sky Sunny

A few days ago I went for a walk with Mark and the dogs. Cali, Miss Bean was frantic to eat grass so we went with her in search of just the right variety. Our dogs are like dairy cows when it comes to grass... it does seem to do the trick for them.
Today we are back in winter mode, a winter wonderful of snow! I will take some photos tomorrow if it hasn't all melted.

Knock, Knock, Who's There?

I was in the porch the other morning photographing jewelry when the dogs came to peek in the window to see what I was doing. They were very excited to find me there! Aren't they cute!

Ice Fishing on Toss A Coin Lake

On Sunday we drove north of Terrace Bay up the mill road to go ice fishing. I was surprised at how much more snow there is up there and how much colder it was than on the Lake shore. We went to a lake right beside the road as I cannot walk far. It was far enough! The dogs love ice fishing and get right int it, they get so excited if they hear one of the bells ringing, they usually get to the hold first. Kinoje would love to eat all the bait and would have loved to eat the pike that Thomas caught.
It was really nice to see Kinoje back to his old silly form, he is feeling so much better, thank goodness. Cali on the other hand was a bit more reserved around the holes, she was a good fisher girl, but couldn't resist rolling in the pike poo... her favourite thing to do.
the dogs were quite excited to see Mark and Thomas pulling the little sleds in
