Wool Trivets?

This is my first, very crude attempt at making a trivet. It does have possibilities, but I will have to improve my sewing skills, or learn some tricks. I have used felted wool sweater strips for the woven part, but the back is an unfelted wool sweater. It is pretty stretchy. It is thick and cushy and would be very insulating, for a hot pot on a table.
